By giving your consent to donate, you are giving HOPE. There are people in Guelph waiting for the call that an organ has been donated that will save their life. Unfortunately, every 3 days, a person on the waiting list loses their fight because an organ wasn't available in time. While 85% of people say they support organ and tissue donation, in Guelph, only 38% have given their consent to donate. Since organ & tissue donation is not a topic that is top of mind for most of us, we do not act. But this one simple act of giving has the potential to save lives. One organ donor can save up to 8 lives, and help 75 more people through donation of tissue. Our goal is to show those who are waiting that Guelph cares, by having at least 100 people register their consent to donate. All you need is your OHIP card and two minutes of your time to give the gift of life. By doing so, you can give HOPE to someone who is waiting today, and LIFE to others in the future.
