This Christmas was unlike any other. How can material gifts compare when I knew I would soon be receiving the best gift I could ever get. This year I received a life-saving live-donor liver transplant and I am forever grateful.

Nine years ago, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune liver disease that would eventually progress to end-stage liver failure requiring transplantation. There are more than 1,600 people in Ontario waiting to receive a life-saving organ transplant and unfortunately there are a number of people who die while waiting. You can help reduce this number by registering to be an organ donor or even looking into live organ donation.
