Thousands of Ontarians get a second chance to live life to its fullest each year, thanks to the kindness of people who have donated organs and tissue. However, many more are still waiting for the gift of life. Currently there are 1,500 people in our province waiting for organ transplants. Sadly, every three days, somebody in Ontario dies while on the waiting list. One organ donor can save up to 8 lives, yet just over 30% of Ontarians have registered their consent to donate.
