Organ and Tissue Donation is important to me because I have personally felt the impact of being an Organ Recipient. I started the road of kidney failure as a young teenager and before long found myself on peritoneal dialysis for awhile before switching to hemodialysis. During my time on dialysis I was blessed with having a son and it and that was one of the best days of my life. A few years later, I was blessed once again with a gift like no other, The Gift of Life as I got the call a match had been made for kidney donation. As excited and nervous as I was, I also kept in mind that I was about to be able to live a normal life off of dialysis again thanks to another families act of kindness and selflessness.

I am here because of the kindness of a stranger

I would encourage everyone to become an Organ and tissue donor. Organ donation gave my son back his dad, my mom and dad back their son and my sister back her brother. It gave me back my life. Organ Donation, the selfless act of a total stranger saved my life. Every single one of us has the ability to be a real life superhero by signing up to be an organ and tissue donor. Who doesn’t want to be a superhero and help save and/or improve the lives of others
