The opportunity to become organ and tissue donors may be new to many First Nation people, but the value of sharing and helping others in need is deeply rooted in our spirituality and culture. Some of us have already donated, others have received. The Chiefs of Ontario encourages community members to consider the gift of life. There are 1500 Ontarians waiting for an organ transplant including many in our communities. Every three days one of them dies because the life-saving organ transplant they need is not available. We can make a difference! Let’s join more than 25% of Ontarians who have already registered their consent. It only takes two minutes and can be done from this page with your Ontario health card number. If you do not have a health card you can still help by talking to your family about your wishes. It could be the greatest gift you ever give someone waiting for a second chance at life.
