After having diabetes for over 30 years and on dialysis for 2 of them, I know the importance of organ donation. I was blessed to receive a kidney in 2007, (direct donor) from my husband. Then in 2011 I received my pancreas transplant from an amazing family whom after a tragic loss decided on organ donation of their loved one.
