I never imagined that one day I would require a life-saving lung transplant because of an incurable, progressive disease called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). In a strange twist of irony I was in my 25th year working as a respiratory medical equipment sales rep so this was very familiar. Thanks to a caring organ donor and their loved ones I received the call in 2018 for a double lung transplant operation that gave me a second chance at life. This was only possible because of another family's loss of a loved one. I am forever grateful to my donor and their family for this very precious gift.

This is one of the main reasons I decided to become a Trillium Gift of Life Network Advocate and also join the Toronto Lung Transplant Civitan Club (www.torontolungtransplantclub.org) to give back to the world class transplant program in Toronto through fundraising events and Organ Donor awareness campaigns.
