Mason Lahde: Gift Of 8 Campaign
When I was a baby, I was very sick. My parents didn’t know what was wrong. Doctors discovered that my kidneys weren’t working, and that I would need a transplant. After waiting on the list for about 6 months in 2008, I had my first kidney transplant. Although I don’t remember much of it, I can imagine how happy everyone was to see me happy and healthy. That kidney lasted for 12 and a half years, and in 2020 I went on the list again. I was lucky and only had to wait for about 3 months and had my second kidney transplant, and I remember everything that happened. I thank my donors everyday, and a day doesn’t go by that I don’t think about them. They gave me another chance at life two different times.
