Mélissa Richer: Gift Of 8 Campaign
Ever since I was young, I wanted to make a change in the world. I've always wanted to put a smile on people's faces and do my best to help the ones in need. At the age of 16, I became a donor. I thought to myself, I would rather make use of something I won't need anymore. I will give my tissues and organs to someone who desperately needs it. I could save a life. This was such a proud moment for me. I am now a nurse and realize how many people are in need.
I have a mother, a father and a sister. They mean the world to me and I would hope that they could be rescued by a donor if they ever needed it. I would hope the same for your family. I will, one day, leave my friends and family mourning knowing another family won't have to.
