Every three days someone dies in Ontario because the life-saving organ transplant they need is not available, yet just over 35% of Ontarians have registered their consent to be a donor. It's really surprising, and it's not good enough. Especially for the over 1,500 people in our province waiting for organ transplants and the thousands more waiting for tissue transplants. The Ontario Humanist Society is committed to doing our part. Organ and tissue donation is directly in line with our shared Humanist values of fairness, respect, dignity, compassion, hope and love. By becoming donors we are each offering these values to others in our shared humanity. We're asking every member of our organization to register their consent for organ and tissue donation. We would also like to spread information about why one should donate and how to do so to family, friends, co-workers and community members.
