I never imagined that one day I would require a life saving transplant because of an incurable disease called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Thanks to a caring organ donor and their loved ones, I was truly blessed to receive a call in 2011 for a lung transplant operation that gave me a second chance at life. This was only possible because of another family's loss of a loved one. I am forever grateful to my donor and family for this very precious gift. Please help save the lives of many others who are in the same situation by registering your consent at www.beADonor.ca and discussing your wishes with loved ones. It takes two minutes of your time and may save someone you love.
"Life" is the greatest gift you can give to others
I am living proof that Organ and Tissue Donation saves lives. You never know if you might need it. This is one of the many reasons Linda and I decided to join the Toronto Lung Transplant Civitan Club to give back to the world class program at TGH through fund raising events and Organ Donor awareness campaigns. You can read more about the club's mandate at www.torontolungtransplantclub.org
