Tazeen Syed: Gift of 8 Campaign
In 1999 ,after the birth of my 3rd daughter, I was diagnosed with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension. It;s a rare disease, it affects only 1 in a million. It;s a progressive disease that has no cure with limited life expectancy of 5-6 years with the help of medicines. In Pakistan PPH can be treated up to only the 5th stage. Only in 3 years I had reached that stage. I became very sick and depressed. I started my day with the fear of death and insecurity. I was worried for my children. My life had become dry. Nothing could make me feel happy. I was frustrated with God and for that reason I opened up The Quran, the holy book,in order to achieve guidance and a solution. I learned that hopelessness is like denying the existence of God. God is merciful to those who deserves his mercy. I changed my attitude towards life, I got involved in the community and started helping out the needy. In 2002 I moved to Canada and received a double lung transplant in Sept 2004 at Toronto General Hospital.
