We are inspired to create this page in honour of Marco Di Bartolomeo who was an organ donor. We were very surprised to learn that over 1,500 Ontarians are waiting for a live-saving organ transplant but just over 35% of Ontarians have registered their consent to be donors. We are asking every participant at MarchforMarco to register their consent at beadonor.ca, and to ask their friends and family to register as well. It takes only two minutes to register, but could one day save up to 8 lives and enhance 75 more through tissue donation. Join family, friends and colleagues who will be walking 5k Saturday May 23. 2026 in memory of our dearest Marco, who was a transplant donor after his tragic passing April 2, 2025. We are raising awareness of the importance of registering and becoming a life-saving donor. The walk is an opportunity to share stories about Marco, and talk about organ donation. Marco was taken from us so very early in his vibrant life, but we want to honor him, and his courage giving life to three other donor recipients. We will walk the 5K route in Marco's life-long neighborhood where many of his memories were made
